Kalliope Kontozoglou, BA(Hons), AA Dipl(Hons), RIBA I-II-III, TEE
Architect and Educator
Studied with David Greene (University of Westminster) and Dalibor Vesely (Architectural Association, Diploma Prize 1981).
Collaborated with Tim Ronalds (1982-88), winning the 1988 The Sunday Times-RIBA Community Award for the Jackson’s Lane Theatre design. Has been practicing in Athens since 1989.
Taught at the AA (1982-86) and the GSD, Harvard (1993). Organises and teaches, as Adjunct Professor of Architecture, the ‘Athens Studio’ for the School of Design, University of Western Australia; also, the EU-Program for the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Huazhong University, China. Visiting Professor at the University of Hong Kong (2017-18). Critic at schools like the University of British Columbia, Canada; the Academy of Fine Arts, Institute for Art and Architecture, Austria; the Leicester School of Architecture, Britain; the Chinese University of Hong Kong; the University College Dublin, Ireland; member of the Advisory Board of the NPO SARCHA (School of Architecture for All), 2006-13. Currently she has been co-hosting a series of talks ‘Socratic Maieutics’ for the University of Florida.
While a partner at 3SK Stylianidis Architects (2003-10), won the International Competition for the conversion of the FIX brewery into the National Museum of Contemporary Art, which was the subject of her book ‘Project FIX: Reviving the Future’, published by Potamos in 2019.
